Our Apache Trail Adventure takes you east of the Valley, deep into the Sonora Desert.
Visit Tortilla Flat, which boasts a population of 6 people! This was the last stagecoach stop on the famous scenic Apache Trail. Here, we will spend time browsing the quaint photo museum, which displays stills from 100 years past! Then treat yourself to some prickly pear ice cream and browse the gift center.
Take a short walk with your guide at Lost Dutchman State Park. Here, the State of Arizona has installed a native path, designed to get you up close and personal with nature:
Witness the flora of the unique Sonora Desert, stand next to towering Saguaro cacti, bend down and see exquisite hedgehogs, often sporting their dime-sized flowers.
Next, cruise for 90 minutes aboard Dolly's Steamboat, the Queen of Canyon Lake. This large vessel will take you on a tranquil majestic boat tour through the narrow 500 foot walls surrounding Canyon Lake. Often we'll see reclusive desert big horn sheep, eagles, coyotes, and other wilds of the Sonora Desert.
You'll return relaxed and refreshed after an incredible day in the Sonora Desert.
